The School going Years

The school going years are most memorable, when children and students are engaged in learning activities, that  give them a holistic perspective.

An activity involves observing, differentiating, seeking similarities, grouping, ,subgrouping, thinking, reasoning, communicating, elaborating, analysing, synthesising, lateral and co lateral connectivity between the stimuli provided, collaborating  and above all decision making. One gets to see all these skills in each and every activity provided. Be it outdoor activity,at the gym, at the art corner, at the block corner, at the sand pit, at the indoor quiet place, making puzzles, solving mazes, completing worksheets, Role play, the Reading corner, or any other Teacher Directed activity, like solving math problems, reading words using phonic skills, discovering bubbles, colours, scientific principles including the study of plant life and animal kingdom.

Simple routines of hygiene, toilet training, snack time, greetings, helpfulness, story time ,rhyme time are also important and relevant for the above skills to develop that have a definite hierarchy.

Activities related to interpersonal relations, communication, sharing, caring, delegating, decentralising , leadership ,expressing opinions, are some of the socio-emotional skills that are an influence through out life. These lifelong influencing skills are very important, and through academic work too ,one can positively reinforce these skills.

Right from the Nursery class to the later classes, these above mentioned skilled are either inductively infused through the curriculum or they are directly portrayed and demonstrated ,by the teacher, using the carefully planned teaching learning situations.
